Tie-dyed sock monks

The tie-dyed Monk Sockeys are created by Kelly Murphy. Each sock is hand-dyed and the result is unique from sock to sock. Kelly uses extra socks and sock scraps to create the clothes and outfits for each of her monkeys. Additionally the clothes she creates are permanently attached to the monkey. Kelly’s monkeys are machine washable and dryable.

Kelly is working on a new collection of monkeys she calls Monk Scrappies. Monk Scrappies are monkeys created from scrap material. The material is fashioned into a sock-like pattern, then sewn just like her sock monkeys. Look for a galley of Monk Scrappies soon.

The pattern Monk Sockeys are created by Maria Morris. The socks (and sometimes tights) used are fun, store-bought varieties. When fashioned into monkeys, the seams are double-sewn for strength. Maria’s monkeys feature removable clothes, outfits, or scarves (unless otherwise stated.) Many of the clothes and outfits fit other 18" dolls. Most bottoms will have a hole in the back side for the monkey’s tail, which can be awkward for other dolls.

The pattern sockeys are machine washable and dryable. The removable clothes are also (in most cases) machine washable and dryable. Some fabrics should not be washed and judgment should used in some instances (tulle, for example.)

Monk Minis are created by both Maria Morris and Kelly Murphy. The style of mini will follow the along with the monkey-making method of the fabricator.

Monk Minis are machine washable and dryable. Monk Minis are great for babies and can be made with stitched eyes instead of button eyes. When ordering, please state your preference.
